Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums

The link caf4926 has in his post should cover most of it, just remember there are some formats openSUSE and linux have issues with.
If you use the apple movie trailers website a lot prepare for disappointment.

If you use the guide and also add the gecko plugin (gnome-mplayer from Packman) from RedDwarf you’ll be OK with Apple stuff.

Apple movie trailers can be made to work with Firefox and the depreciated mplayerplug-in, and with the firefox add on “user agent” with a custom setting. As noted in this thread: Unable to play apple site trailers - openSUSE Forums

Just a note, this still works to play Apple Movie Trailers on a 64-bit openSUSE-11.2 with mplayerplug-in-3.55+cvs20090923-0.pm.2.1.x86_64, and UserAgentSwitcher in Firefox-3.5.4 with those recommended settings.

Yes, it is not an EASY “just works” fix to apply, but once in place, it works for most trailers.
