Every time I try to connect to a network it asks me for the password, even though I gone to kde’s network configuration and entered it multiple times it doesn’t save and I also get the message: FAILED TO GET SECRETS FOR XXX WIFI. No agents were available for this request.
I’m using WPA2 Personal. TP Link WiFi adapter. Worked without issue till today.
Do you have the wifi connection configured as a shared (system connection) or a user-specific connection? With the former, the secrets are stored unencrypted in the (root-owned) connection definition file itself. User-defined connections can make use of the desktop password manager (eg KWallet) to store encrypted secrets instead. Perhaps you need to focus on this aspect and check that the KWallet subsystem is enabled (refer System Settings) to start with.
Do you mean KWallet itself? How did you store the passphrase when defining the connection? It means nothing unless you can tell us how the connection was defined (as I already explained). Did you set up the Wi-Fi connection as a ‘shared’ (root-owned) conneciton? You can check this stuff out by using NM itself, or provide the connection definition details as already told.
It’s working now. The issue was I kept missing the popup password dialog : “System policy prevents modification of network settings for all users”
As soon as I put passwords in that, it saved all WiFi passes.
