I agree; failing to update software as essential as LibreOffice is a problem, and not just a security one.

It seems to me that this project could be better organised to offer the “still” and “fresh” versions of LibreOffice packaged for openSUSE. Specifically, four sub-projects:
This would give users the same choice as that offered by ODF and ensure they are up to date with the latest stables versions.
These packages could also be integrated into the official repository.
