Snapshot 20250101-0 ruined font rendering for GTK-based flatpaks

I’m writing this after rolling back, and I didn’t think to capture a screenshot, but basically fonts in menu bars of my GTK-based flatpak apps were looking absolutely terrible with this snapshot, as if anti-aliasing was turned off.

This is the diff

My post was mostly intended to warn other users, since I imagine that most check the forums rather than the issue tracker.

I have a couple of questions if you don’t mind:

  • Is that bug report specific to Opensuse with Gnome? (Because I am on Opensuse Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma and facing the problem mentioned by the OP in this thread)
  • That bug report does not mention the aliasing being turned off and instead says that the incorrect fonts are being used. Is that still relevant? because I am not an expert and can’t tell for sure.

As far as I’m concerned, I have the non-antialiased fonts in GTK apps running under KDE - KDE is my DE of choice.

The latest snapshot update (1/12) completely fixed this problem. Remove those locks and upgrade! :smiley:
