Opera inoperative

Since I updated Tumbleweed using dup, opera-99.0.4788.31-1.1.x86_64 connects to sites but no longer displays them. Version 101.0.4843.43 works normally under Debian. Other browsers work normally.

@ionmich:

Opera 100.0.4815.76 is available from the Opera web site as an RPM package – no idea why Tumbleweed doesn’t offer it – it’s a commercial package anyway – <https://blogs.opera.com/desktop/2023/07/opera-100-0-4815-76-stable-update/>

  • Everything newer seems to be “Beta” (Test Phase … ) … :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Stable release 101-0-4843-43

Thanks for the link. It was an easy solution.

I’ve had Opera One installed as a Flatpak (vs RPM download) on my TW system:

Opera One(version: 101.0.4843.43)
Opera is up to date
Update stream:Stable
System:Freedesktop.org SDK 22.08 (Flatpak runtime) (x86_64; KDE)
Chromium version:115.0.5790.171

Sorry, it was my error.

The “content not showing” in a browser is not uncommon. And it’s not just with TW - users in other distro forums complain about this after an update.

There’s an easy and quick fix at the command line.

With the most recent massive dup yesterday, all four of my TW machines resulted in this “no content” browser problem. Most Chrome based (non container) browsers are affected.

Today’s dup installed 101-0-4843-43 which doesn’t work for me. It overwrote 100.0.4815.76 which I have now locked. Opera 100.0.4815.76 Stable update - Blog | Opera Desktop only offers a .deb version from the “Download” link. Further down the page there is a .rpm download, but it’s 101-0-4843-43.

See if this fixes it
