system gie this message aftr I ‘migratied’ to Leap 16 using the migration-tool
localhost:~ # nvidia-smi
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
The nvidia drivers are all installed per myrlyn
Do i have to wait on Nvidia for something?
I really do not want to do a fresh install.

The screenshot is useless as it hides all relevant information.
show the output of

Better not to jump to conclusions before anybody has seen any relevant output.

Nvidia-smi is a way to see if the cuda driver is installed and being used. In your screenshot there is no nvidia-cuda driver at all. Is it installed but not in the picture, or isn’t it installed?
Furthermore you have the 64 and the 32 bits drivers installed. Why? Is that necessary?

This is irrelevant. 32bit packages are pulled as dependency by several applications e.g Steam.

I just looked at my other laptop with Fedora KDE 42 where I use an Nvidia card, but there I only have 64 bits drivers and other packages.
That’s why I responded.

There are differences for package names and dependencies between different distributions.

There is no ‘cuda’ in the list of nvidia drivers for the G05 series drivers that I can find by a myrlyn search

Always best to use zypper lr -d when sharing configured repos. That way the URI is shown as well. In any case it is disabled in your system, but best practice would be to remove it.
The NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 is based on the Fermi-2 (GK208/GF119) architecture, which is considered legacy. NVIDIA support ended for this old hardware with the 470.xx series drivers. The nouveau driver provides basic support for this hardware, but best to upgrade the video card really.

I don’t see the nvidia repo as ‘disabled’.
Remove what? the repo?
