Leap 16 --couple of issues with mouse action glitchy && not typing in message boxes?

Sure. Suggestions are good, but seemingly not really breathing down the neck of the issue. Some years back on another machine and perhaps on Mint, there would be problems with typing with even thumbs hanging above the touchpad that would wipe the typed words . . . very irritating to say the least. The forum gurus sort of traced it to a “synaptics” problem, but, at that time way beyond my capacity to figure out how to edit the “synaptics” file . . . . I think I eventually nuked that install and went to something else as my solution. The question for now is, would this type of problem relate to “synaptics” as far as the same intermittent nature and the handling of mouse cursor and mousing around??? Does Leap 16 have a “synaptics” package that handles mouse and/or touchpad functions???

But, as far as the xfce-wayland showing up in the ls /usr/share data, no, I did not see anything listed that could be considered to be a wayland package. So far in my linux career I haven’t opted in to wayland on any system that I had the choice on, and can say with some confidence that my current Leap 16 install has not had it installed.

I’m back in Manjaro right now, I can double check it later or copy/paste the se xfce data . . . but I would be horrified to learn that wayland is installed, and, yesterday in logging out of the XFCE session, the only other option listed was ICEweasel??? Just two options for session . . . .

Not ready to erase or enlarge my Leap 16 system to “fix” something that isn’t massively damaged, just mildly tweaked; I will wait until there is a moment to make a new install flash drive for a fresh install to experiment with.
