Yes, NVIDIA support is WIP. Best to follow upstream.

I’ve tried Wayland multiple times on my 2013 Mac Pro. At times it is buttery smooth and beautiful, but at other times it feels slow and jerky (navigating menus, window movement, etc.). This is while using the default radeon driver. Usually a kernel update causes the change. X11 does not have this issue. So, I default to X11.
