And can’t seem to solve my issue. I changed my interface to be Internal expecting to be able to disable “Protect Firewall from Internal” as shown in the below image:
But I cannot find the “Protect Firewall from Internal Zone” option to deselect anywhere. My brother HLl2390DW Printer obviously won’t show up because the firewall is preventing discovery in YaST Printers.
After a while of changing the default network to internal, network printers just randomly decided to become discoverable, for no reason at all. Without any input from me whatsoever after doing said change. I didn’t add any services/etc. Or find the option mentioned to protect firewall from internal zone.
The key thing is allowing mdns for discovery using DNS-SD.
Adding mdns/etc. to a more strict zone, such as public, will still disallow the printer to be discovered. I learned that back when I made this thread: Net Install via Ventoy media
Not true. However you need to make sure that the relevant interface is a member of the zone you’ve modified.
