If PlayOnLinux fails to launch or a PlayOnLinux app fails to launch. see Uninstall the PlayOnLinux rpm. With Discover Install the Flatpak PlayOnLinux. Perhaps you need to activate the Flatpak backend. For retrieving your previous settings of Playonlinux In /home/userid/.var/app/com.playonlinux.PlayOnLinux4/data/ rename PlayOnLinux by PlayOnLinux~ create the link PlayOnLinux → /home/userid/.PlayOnLinux/ to launch an app use this command : /usr/bin/flatpak run com.playonlinux.PlayOnLinux…

For launching an app use the following statement :

WINEPREFIX=/home/<user_id>/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/<POL_app folder>/ wine “/home/roubach/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/<app_folder>/drive_c/Program Files/<Windows_app_folder>/<name_of_the app>.exe”

For example :

WINEPREFIX=/home/<user_id>/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/captvty2/ wine “/home/roubach/.PlayOnLinux/wineprefix/captvty2/drive_c/Program Files/Captvty/Captvty.exe”

That is not a workaround or solution…such „advises“ do not belong into an open source forum.

Linux gets some limitations.

For a small fee you can extend them.

Sometimes it is necessary. For example to get Wahtsapp on your Linux desktop. The only way is to get MS Windows in a VM and to install WhatsApp desktop on Windows.

All options in this list supplies a way to use Whatsapp with only one feature. You can only chat, no phone or video call.

All of them are just different ways invoke web version with its limitations (which are present even on Windows).

You are mistaken.

wine, playonlinux, bottles, etc, today faces a big problem.
MS has stopped supplying old versions of libraries and programs.

Today I have several Windows applications installed on Playonlinux. If I wanted to install them again on Playonlinux, I wouldn’t be able to. Nor can I install them on Bottles.
