Trying to change email address in my profile. Got onto Profile —> Preferences.
On that page it looks like you can only change your picture. I can see my email but not edit it. I can save changes but can’t make any.
thanks, tom kosvic

@tckosvic The login system is independent from the forum, you need to go to the IDP Self Help portal as detailed in the Forum FAQ’s;
https://forums.opensuse.org/faq
Note this is not just for the Forum, but openSUSE Infrastructure wide, also if you have any bugs, you need to get it changed there as well…
I would suggest that the information that info on the Profile/Preferences page cannot be edited be put on the “Preferences” page along with a link to where you need to go to change any of your information. Might save repetitions of my query in the future.
Could also remove the “save” button since you can’t edit anything.
I am unsuccessful finding a username/pw that logs me into idp-portal.suse.com.
Keep getting: “Either username or password is incorrect or you are not allowed to use this service” on any of the openSUSE logins I have, i.e. forums, build.
These idp dialogues keep referencing employees, I assume I am not considered an employee.
If I go to create new account for idp do I affect all my other openSUSE logins?
How to create idp login w/o changing other logins?
thanks, tom kosvic
@tckosvic Don’t create another account, it’s the same login as here… Select “Your Profile” can you login there?
@tckosvic Basically everything (including OBS and bugzilla) use your current account- but depending on the service different login frontends are used (id.o.o, login2.o.o etc.)
So one change affects everything…
got logged in to idp and email changed w/o creating new account.

We provide this information at FAQ - openSUSE Forums
We also answer, in the FAQ, why we don’t implement most suggestions. In this case, could we modify the code to implement the suggestions you made? Probably, but then we’d have to maintain the changes every time we update the forum software, which isn’t practical.
The FAQ link is visible on every page if you have the left navigation panel open - it’s under the “openSUSE Resources” section:
