Install the package djvulibre-djview4, it contains the gui program
djview which has an export function in the file menu for pdf.

Don’t convert, display as djvu with the viewer in the distro. It is a very
good format, if whoever gave you the files in that format had a good reason
to do it. Conversion will not give the same quality.

Thanks for this link. It worked.

I installed this package, but unfortunately (or otherwise) djview is not getting opened (don’t the reason) though I rebooted too…! Thanks.

I couldn’t have gone for conversion if I were not required it into separate parts, since I can bifurcate the pdf using any of the tools like kpdftool or pdfmod. Thanks.

I have really never seen that it does not run and I use djview for years
(btw okular can also view djvu). What happens as output if you type
djview in a terminal?

The complete output is here: djvu error

Thanks.

To be honest that tells me absolutely nothing, the same command (which
is a symlink to /usr/bin/djview4) from the same package just works here
on 11.4 and 12.1 (as it did in previous versions of openSUSE).

Okay but in my case its not opening. I don’t understand when the command says something like ‘symbol lookup error: djview: undefined symbol: ddjvu_format_set_white’.

Thanks.

That indicates that a wrong library is referenced somehow (but I do not
know which library contains this symbol).

Maybe you have a weird combination of repos and then a wrong combination of
libraries. Or maybe a expected library did not install; try installing
dejaview again.

Nobody but a programmer really knows what that error message means.

By the way, you can post those small excerpts of computer text here using
“code tags”. Advanced editor, “#” button. No need to use pastebins for those.

May be and I think this (the wrong combination) might have come into existence when I installed Gnome and XFCE too and upgraded the KDE too, for sure this could be that reason, however, I was okay with the default KDE but unnecessarily went to try GNOME in KDE. And each time I accepted the libraries it was asking for replacement (or addition, whatever)!

Thanks.

Having gnome and kde and xfce from the default repos is no problem, I have
those and djview works. Maybe installing updates from obs repos is a
problem, those are not tested that much.

The output from

zypper lr -d
rpm -qa '*djvu*'

will probably tell us more. I nprinciple I can only second what Carlos
wrote - having several DEs from the standard repositories should not
lead to this problem.

PC: oS 11.4 (dual boot 12.1) 64 bit | Intel Core i7-2600@3.40GHz | KDE

Eee PC 1201n: oS 11.4 64 bit | Intel Atom 330@1.60GHz | KDE 4.8.0 |
nVidia ION | 3GB Ram

The output of “zypper lr -d” is here:
Zypper output

The other output is here:-

linuxearth@linux-tsqc:~> rpm -qa '*djvu*'

libdjvulibre21-3.5.23-3.4.i586
djvulibre-djview4-4.8-18.1.i586
djvulibre-3.5.24-21.2.i586

Thanks.

Ok so this is my output

martinh@ganymed:~> rpm -qa '*djvu*'
libdjvulibre21-3.5.23-3.4.x86_64
djvulibre-djview4-4.6-3.1.x86_64
djvulibre-3.5.23-3.4.x86_64

also a 11.4 system (with kde 4.8 in my case, but I doubt that matters),
I see that your djview and your djvulibre have different versions than
mine. The glitch seems to be at least that libdjvulibre21 and djvulibre
have different versions on your system.

Open yast and search for djvulibre, then for the 3 packages listed above
choose in the version tab to change it to the version from the oss
repository (this is number 12 with name repo-oss in your list).
Do this for all three and accept that they will be reinstalled, I guess
then it will work.

PC: oS 11.4 (dual boot 12.1) 64 bit | Intel Core i7-2600@3.40GHz | KDE

Ok I try that tomarrow on Sunday and then see. Thanks.

Very honestly, I tried this all. I opened the Yast and searched and in the Versions Tab I was trying to change, but really I didn’t find any option to do that, it was just showing the checked box which is the latest, and I was not able to change that. However, I can just uninstall the same and install back or when I would reinstall the distribution with 12.2, I can do that and untill that, I can use that link which was provided at first (the online conversion). Might be that I am not able to grasp what you said or I was missing something.

Thanks.
