Spoken like a true Sys Admin, if I didn’t need them I wouldn’t have installed them. I don’t want to use flatpaks for everything either because that has downsides beyond security.

As if there is anything “verified” in Packman. At least flatpaks don’t conflict with my system packages.

- Packman gives you a minimal review in terms of a “security audit”
- “Verified” only identifies the publisher (useless)
- As continuously demonstrated by multiple (known) vulnerabilities nothing is safe (zero sandboxes)
You might as well get apps from AUR or whatever else … I’ll trust flatpaks, thank you very much

Well the publisher is packman and comes from them … where exactly do the flatpak apps come from … 
May I suggest everybody calm down please? Here we are trying to help a newcomer to Tumbleweed sort out the quirks of this new (to them) distribution.
Flame wars about Flatpack and/or Packman or whatever belong to Open Chat.

There’s no flame war. Obviously people have different use cases for Tumbleweed. New users should know that Nvidia drivers are probably going to break or be out of sync regularly. If they want proprietary codecs they’re going to need Packman or some other alternative.

But that g07 kpm meta package doesnt stop the nvidia driver desync?
Not as far as I can tell, I have it installed but was away for a month and now have issues which can be managed but are annoying. I notice that there don’t seem to be any G07 packages in the nvidia repository until this is sorted out.
Having said that, other than the regular issues with Nvidia drivers I’ve found Tumbleweed to be by far one of the best distros out there. I wouldn’t bother commenting here otherwise.

Yes, strangely I don’t see nvidia-common-G07 listed at https://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/tumbleweed which is where I’d expect to find it. Not sure what’s going on. If I try ‘zypper dup’ I get

Yes, I agree and am going to try that now. Before I was having another issue but that seems to have been resolved @spring-time Can’t install Nvidia drivers - #8 by spring-time .

If it needs a restart, I’ll turn it off. Else it goes into sleep.
dup includes the ref, so no need for that.
