How Driver for new AMD Graphic Card?

Hi Gurus,

please recommend how i should proceed regards Drivers if buying a new AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT.

Leap 15.5 is great and i love it, but obviously will proceed with out of date Kernels having new Graphic Cards in mind.
An upgrade to Tumbleweed appears to be impossible due to SHA issues.
A Kernel upgrade did not work neither due to MOK issues.
AMD offers Drivers for Linux, but a quick Internet Search provided lots of warnings using such due to implications with Kernel and Mesa.

So what shall i do if going for a new Graphic Card needed for gaming?

You have been told how to avoid those problems.

Maybe you can try Leap 15.6-Beta. It does have a newer kernel than 15.5. And it wont require complicated changes.

Add Radeon repo & install Mesa 3D or proprietary drivers.

As a Newbie, I read this as better be careful with which Kernel for which AMD driver and double careful with changing Kernels once AMD driver is installed.
Is my impression incorrect?

15.6 beta is available now. Official 15.6 release is scheduled for June 12. I have 14 15.6 installations now, with another expected by the end of today.

Thanks guys. I learned a lot from the peeps in this forum. Really appreciated.

I will wait for the official Leap 15.6 and give more time for saving my money till end of year or later when a good second Gen GPU will have become more affordable

And I will keep an eye on the amdgpu option in context of the upcoming Leap 15.6 Kernel.

And yes, I will stay with Leap Gnome for sure, me loving it. (I just need to keep an eye on the root partion, which strangely fills up quick … )

AMD provides official support for SLE = openSUSE Leap. Updated firmware files are included.
