December 2025 Screenshots

Hi All another month and another starter

This is another Leap 16.0 Test system, I’m currently using this as a k3s compute node, plan is to look at running VM’s on it as well. Might even increase the CPU Core count and of course RAM when it gets back to sensible pricing…

Dear @conram Thank you for sharing!

What is your experience with Xfce on Wayland? Are you satisfied? What do you use as DM (how do you login)? TIA!

Hi @C7NhtpnK It’s very usable. I can’t say it’s perfect , for sure there are some quirks
as any other wayland and it is still on infancy stage. Try it and experience how it is.
For my DM I am using SDDM. How I login just boot and wait for the login screen and login my user then all is good.

So here is a follow up system. It’s a Virtual Machine (On the Proliant ML150) running Leap 16.0 with a Quadro P400 passed through (vfio-pci) as well as a monitor connected to the P400 and keyboard/mouse passed through as well…

This on is for the laugh track. Screen shot of Tumbleweed actually runing Cinnamon. Please read the fastfetch for a good laugh about how old this version is in am stuck running under Tumbleweed because Cinnamon is broken now. Yes I am running this now today.

That means that your Tumbleweed is that outdated, that you cannot upgrade it anymore without issues.

2 years already on OpenSUSE TW, ditched Windows long ago as knew my favorite games could run on SUSE with no hassle.

And there is a patch to get Cinnamon working on Tumbleweed and Slowroll now and yes a zypper dup did have a few issues upgrading this one but all working fine now.

Hi @mcvills what graphic application did you use to make that illustration.
Very nice and smooth.
