Can't boot with latest version

Hi, I have a big issue, I can’t boot with the latest version of Tumbleweed (6.17.3), I get the 3 little dots. I have to use the previous version for the computer to boot correctly (6.17.2). My computer is an MSI Prestige 16Evo A13M. What should I do? Thanks a lot.

Kernel panic after update

Today, I decided to update my computer and restarted it after the update. Upon restarting, I saw three square dots that I had previously seen on Debian-based distributions (normally, my laptop manufacturer logo and the Tumbleweed logo would appear), and I thought something was wrong. I continued with the boot process, but after a while, my computer completely froze. Then I turned it off using the power button and started it again, this time removing quiet and splash=silent from the GRUB configur…

But hard to say considering you didn’t provide any info.

Thanks. Yes I added more information and I just found the same post. It looks similar indeed but apparently no fix yet.

Kernel 6.17.4 with the fix has been submitted to factory yesterday, but it won’t be part of the probably next snapshot (TW20251021). In the meantime, you can install 6.17.4-3 from https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/

A lot of users, including me, are facing this issue. We are waiting for the fixed kernel to be released. In the meantime, we are all using kernel 6.17.2 too.
