Hi
I note a few topics on this theme, and I cannot resolve my problem.
This old HP circa 2015/15 had Mint running on it until yesterday, and the BCM worked.
Dis-Abled Secure Boot, because the ubuntu wl package was unsigned and voila.
So pointers please.
I hope the tag doesn’t mislead, why its there I know not.

Hi
Managed to get a login, my old ones (Novell etc) don,t function, but I have a recent one.
So …
ocalhost:~> inxi -nna
Network:
Device-1: Broadcom BCM43142 802.11b/g/n vendor: Hewlett-Packard
driver: bcma-pci-bridge v: N/A modules: bcma pcie: gen: 1 speed: 2.5 GT/s
lanes: 1 bus-ID: 02:00.0 chip-ID: 14e4:4365 class-ID: 0280
Device-2: Realtek RTL810xE PCI Express Fast Ethernet
vendor: Hewlett-Packard driver: r8169 v: kernel pcie: gen: 1 speed: 2.5 GT/s

IF: eth0 state: UP speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: fc:3f:db:XX:XX:XX
Which seems to suggest the boot up message I captured maybe relevant
BCM: firmware Patch file not found, tried:
So I am going to try and learn why?
Hope the above helps you to help me.
As requested

I appreciate the subtleties of masking my mac address.
Why not using Code-Tags???
Add the Packman Repo if not done.
Install the 3 broadcom-wl packages from Packman (broadcom-wl, broadcom-wl-kmp-default, broadcom-wl-ueficert), if secure boot is enabled, restart and add the Packman uefi-key to the blue mok.
Now the Wlan should work.

Hi
Thanks.
I did get BlueTooth working earlier, now I have a different driver installed…
localhost:~> inxi -nn
Network:
Device-1: Broadcom BCM43142 802.11b/g/n driver: wl
IF: wlan2 state: DOWN mac: 48:e2:44:XX:XX:XX
Device-2: Realtek RTL810xE PCI Express Fast Ethernet driver: r8169
IF: eth0 state: UP speed: 100 Mbps duplex: full mac: fc:3f:db:XX:XX:XX
Device-3: ZyXEL ZyAIR G-202 802.11bg driver: zd1211rw type: USB
IF: wlan1 state: DOWN mac: 00:19:cb:XX:XX:XX
Device-4: Ralink RT5370 Wireless Adapter driver: rt2800usb type: USB
IF: wlan0 state: UP mac: 00:0f:13:XX:XX:XX
Thanks again.
Now if I can get my wlan2 BCM device (and the Zyxel) up, I dare to try a network re-install and hope the kernel panic failure is removed.
