After zypper dup start it downloads at 40-50 MiB/sec, however at the end speed goes down to 200-300 KiB/sec and even less:

The forum is the wrong place to report mirror issues.
It is normal that some mirrors have issues from time to time. Also, if there are only a few mirrors in a country, they may get easily overloaded. There are many reasons why a local mirror can have issues. That is the nature of things.
The minimum required speed is 10mbit…you know what that means when 100 ppl access the server at the same time?
You can choose a fixed mirror to bypass the slow one which gets automatically picked for you.
I can’t: openSUSE and NVIDIA services will overwrite them - we talked about this many times! Why CDN mechanism can’t change mirror automatically or even better take default or primary one when speed is low?! Otherwise, using a CDN turns into some kind of meaningless.
You can. Simply add an additional mirror manually…
sudo zypper ar -f <mirror-url-here> <reponame>

@akontsevich you need to pick a package that is failing and then check the mirrorlist to see if it’s available in your locale.
For example;
https://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/x86_64/kernel-default-7.1.5-1.1.x86_64.rpm.mirrorlist
I see nothing on the mirrors for this…
And what this will give me?! Do it every time I met the problem?! It is not the solution! Need to fix CDN/zypper algorithms!

Works fine for me, the only issue at the moment seems to be the new kernel and it’s inability to sync. Looks like it may be Build Service related. Again, it’s the weekend, wait until Monday.
Remember the infrastructure team are just volunteers, this is not a paid service, so I suggest you tone it down a bit.
Why not ask a educational institution in your locale to setup a mirror and work with them to improve your local access?
Confirming, preload slowing down to 1B/s (!) when reaching the kernel, other packages went in at up to 7MB/s on wireless…
Looks like at least one DE and one CZ mirrors synced, so another attempt at upgrade went smoothly here. Maybe wait and try again later.

Last night I faced the exact same problem. The downloading speed had fallen down to 35.4 KBs. In the beginning it was within an acceptable 6 - 11 Mbps range but the moment it started downloading the new kernel… boom. Down to 35 Kbps. It also stopped downloading completely three times. I was forced to stop and restart the download twice.
It was the first time something like that happened since I switched to TW. Let’s hope it was a temporary server sync problem because updating will become very difficult otherwise.

I locked “kernel-default”, and then updated. Everything updated.
I then unlocked “kernel-default”, and waited around 2 hours and tried again. It worked that time.
