Zypper dup message: "Need to run systemctl"

See image with red arrows. This appeared at the end of the zypper dup command. I’m not a technical person so what should I do? Run the command? Something else?

Why does this message appear?

Note:

advait@localhost:~> sudo apparmor_status
[sudo] password for root:
apparmor module is loaded.
apparmor filesystem is not mounted.
advait@localhost:~>

In fact and as you can see, both this one and the other one are output from the post installation scripts of some packages (in this case apparmor and kernel-default.

I often ignore these messages, but when you use apparmor (and you cretainly use kernel-deafult), it might be interesting to wait for comments on both topics.

Allow at least 24 hours for people to answer. After all some on this globe might still be asleep.

Linux nerds sleep?

If you’re not using apps delivered as snaps, then this is probably not critical for you to deal with.

As a side note, please don’t use screenshots when you can copy & paste text - copied/pasted text is much easier to read and to search on. Just be sure to paste as preformatted text (in the editor here, it’s the button that looks like </>)

Update and Issue Resolution, I ran zypper dup this morning and there were no errors listed at the end. So looks like the errors resolved themselves. My hat’s off to all the devs who created an OS that can fix its own errors. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, good reminder, thanks. I used a screenshot to capture the different colors of the text. I was thinking the colors may be important.

See my other post. As you do something different, you see something different. No case of magic.
