The mirror you are using seems to sync atm. So as usual, wait some time and retry.

Please, to make the pieces of computer code in your posts better consumable by technical oriented people:

And post as complete as possible. That is starting with the line with the prompt and the command, then all output, and ending with the new prompt line.
When you really feel you need to change anything in such a copy, then explain that in a comment, else we take all characters literally.

Is this better?

Is there some zypper command that I can use to update the sources? I think this came about when there was a thunderstorm here and the computer shut down.

Linux and especially openSUSE is amazing. The update works fine again.
Thanks to Linus Torvalds and the entire Linux community! I am proud to be Finnish.

Much, much better. And please remember it for next time you want to post.

And I can give you another hint. Your system is not using English, thus it can be difficult for people here in the Englsih language section of the forums. Most (if not all) commands will show English instead of the configured language when you precede the command with LANG=C. In this case

LANG=C zypper dup

I understand this very well.
But my native language is Finnish and I assume that the commands etc. are also translated correctly into English. I have to translate the language into English myself, so I assume that translation the other way around is not possible?
But this is not a problem, as long as the commands are correct and my question is understood.

What is the problem with adding LANG=C in front of a command when you want to post it here?

Did you check to see the difference on your system between e.g.

zypper lr -d

and

LANG=C zypper lr -d

?

@raijar This is an English speaking Forum, there is an expectation that users post in this language and if not their native language by utilizing the LANG=C environment variable when posting output.

Thanks for your understanding :smile:

I don’t see any major difference in the execution of those commands.

localhost:~ #

I’m trying to improve my habits.
I was just so sure that that log told everything that was wrong.

First, it is LANG=C and not lang=c.

Second, I now see that your system language is English (though you may have Finish as user in the desktop). I think I was confused by the strange repository name in your first post above (which was not easy to interpret because no CODE posting was used).

So forget it and sorry for the disturbance.

Everything is OK.
I often mix up different languages, so it’s understandable that I’m understood. :smiley:

I’ve been getting curl and read errors from mirrorcache-us.o.o for the past several hours. I’ve requested opening of a Progress Ticket.

Changing the base URL to slc-mirror.o.o (U.S.) eliminated the errors.
