Zypper dup 5201 packages

I’m doing zypper dup on a SSD that I remove from my sata drive last year and connected it to usb two weeks ago.
I cleaned the fstab of this SSD so I can make it boot from the usb. :grinning:

It took 2 hours and 23 minutes to install the 5201 packages.
I had the problem of not recognizing the new kernel. I can still boot but it is using the old 6.0 kernel.
It can’t detect the new kernel.

The image above shows the error in boot loader in yast2.
Finally I tried booting the usb thru the UEFI selection in the bios and it was able to see the latest kernel and from there in init 3 I was able to run the nvidia installer did dracut -f --regenerate-all and was able to boot normally from the grub menu. I am writing this from this SSD with the latest tumbleweed snapshot.

were you able to fully recover?

I had a long delayed arch install update that I never could recover from, however I blame that, now, on the nvidia drivers…

Yep, I was able to recover as I stated in my second post.

gj. O suspect that I cpu;dm’t recover arch because of nvidia drivers after 7+m. Probably could’ve worked it out but bailed.

And yeah sorry for not completely rreading second post, I was just expecting the worst when you mention 1k+ packages to update, pacman -syyuu
