XSane using ADF for Epson WF-2930

Trying to use the ADF on an Epson WF-2930 printer, but whatever I do, doesn’t seem to know how many pages there are to scan - if I scan 2p, will scan only 1, if I scan 14 pages, may get 2 or 3…
Page sizes setup, etc. Works fine if I use the Epson Scan 2 (epsconscan2 V6.7.82.0-1 + epsonscan2-non-free-plugin V1.0.0.6-1) utility, would prefer to use XSane…
Guessing it is probably to do with the Epson provided printer/scanner util.
Any suggestions to get it to work?
Thanks.

I don’t have direct experience using ADF scanners on Linux, but this is likely a limitation of the SANE backend (epkowa or epson2), where support for newer Epson ADF models can be incomplete.

You can check which backend is in use with scanimage -L.

Realistically, using the Epson Scan 2 application may be the most reliable option for ADF scanning on this device at the moment.

I haven’t used XSane for years, but just in case this is helpful (using the scanimage command)…

xsane is an old tool, last Version about 7 years.

I now use the epsonscan2.

Thanks, didn’t realise it is now basically unsupported…
