Xrdp broken due to PAM authentication error

Hi there!

I’ve just made a dup in my system (last time done around november maybe?) and the connections through XRDP have just broken for all users.

I got this message when trying to log in:

Having a look at /var/log/xrdp-sesman.log, it looks like a problem with PAM authentication:

[20230203-16:18:55] [ERROR] pam_authenticate failed: Authentication failure
[20230203-16:18:55] [ERROR] sesman_data_in: scp_process_msg failed
[20230203-16:18:55] [ERROR] sesman_main_loop: trans_check_wait_objs failed, removing trans

Any suggestions on how to workaround this?

Thanks!

@galmas Hi and welcome to the Forum :smile:

As a Tumbleweed user I suggest you also follow the Factory Mailing List, your issue (and a temporary fix) was noticed yesterday;

Thank you very much @malcolmlewis, with the workaround mentioned in the Mailing List I could return it to work.

I’m keeping the Mailing List as a bookmark to have a look at it from time to time.
