Trying to install Nvidia on my 11.4 test system. .3 and .44 do not work

Where did you find 256.52. I was on Nvidia website yesterday and only see
…35 and .44 and .53
I wonder if .53 is replacement for .52.

the driver come from ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/
Xorg is coming from /repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_11.3
This combination is working great
Dont now the version of xorg in of 11.4 possibly you have to upgrade
New nvidia driver
The nvidia driver 256.53 also works great

Thanks I’ll try that today. Sorry about the broken up message, My mouse was
giving up and I replaced it last night. Somehow it was effecting keyboard
also (both PS2 thru converter switch box to USB)

Installed new Nvidia driver 256.53 from the nvidia repo with YaSt and all
went well. Display is working fine. Did not have to use hardway.

Just a heads up I had 1.9 running with the 256.53 driver worked great. Wanted to try newer kernel installed it using only the repos for the kernel,syms,source and zypper dup. Went to rebuild the driver and was missing a .h file so it failed. My dumbarse didn’t keep the old kernel basically bricked. noob mistake #1 !!!
