I am trying to get kwin windows manager working of xfce.

I have installed it and ran kwin_x11 --replace which appears to work fine, however the “windows manager” refuses to open.

Have I missed something?

Hi,
You can’t just run kwin_x11 by adding it on Session and Startup
In tumbleweed with the latest xfce 4.16 the way I do it at least is working for me is;
First add

kwin_x11

in session and startup
Then while login to xfce you have to run

kwin_x11 --replace

after doing so go to session and startup again then go to **save sessions
**and then click **save session

**Note: the above I wrote in sequence are the only solution that worked here on my side.Hope that helps.
