Xerox Phaser 6110

Hi everybody

Anyone may try to start the autorun or setup.sh script as root for the installation of Xerox Phaser 6110 printer from here: [http://www.support.xerox.com/go/getfile.asp?Xlang=en_US&XCntry=USA&objid=58350&EULA=0&prodID=6110&Family=Phaser&ripId=&langs=English (US)&plats=Linux&Xtype=download&uType=](http://www.support.xerox.com/go/getfile.asp?Xlang=en_US&XCntry=USA&objid=58350&EULA=0&prodID=6110&Family=Phaser&ripId=&langs=English (US)&plats=Linux&Xtype=download&uType=)? Please let me know if it works with openSUSE 11.1? Thank you

Did you unzip the file first? I have a phaser 6120 and after unzipping the
file there are a lot of models listed. In my case I copied the 6120 version
to /usr/share/cups/model/xerox/. Then use the cups web interface to create
the printer. Using the Cups interface will put the ppd in /etc/cups/ppd/
where it belongs as part of the configuration process.

Russ
openSUSE 11.1 (2.6.27.21-0.1-default x86_64) KDE 4.2.3 release 1, Intel
DX48BT2 Core 2 Dual E7200. 4 GB DDR III GeForce 8400 GS, 320GB Disc (2)

Thanks for your suggestion, Russ. I ended up finding that on printer’s CD the x64 setup dir was…empty. No x64 setup included on CD. The only “official” workaround is to use the Xerox Phaser 6110 MFP / Phaser 3250 drivers. I finally used the alternative foo2qpdl drivers that works nicely.

According to the following link, you also should be able to get the printer
working with “splix” drivers:

JFYI, there is one rpm available under OBS:
