Did you unzip the file first? I have a phaser 6120 and after unzipping the
file there are a lot of models listed. In my case I copied the 6120 version
to /usr/share/cups/model/xerox/. Then use the cups web interface to create
the printer. Using the Cups interface will put the ppd in /etc/cups/ppd/
where it belongs as part of the configuration process.
Thanks for your suggestion, Russ. I ended up finding that on printer’s CD the x64 setup dir was…empty. No x64 setup included on CD. The only “official” workaround is to use the Xerox Phaser 6110 MFP / Phaser 3250 drivers. I finally used the alternative foo2qpdl drivers that works nicely.
