X-REBIRTH linux, no sound

I fixed the last problem. Now I have a new one. I click on the the 3 installers in order. I have the game running. I have ‘Pulse Volume Audio Control’ loaded. I had a similar problem with VLC media player. I just changed the output channel to right device, config device - hdmi1 - monitor sound. Then switched the device on the running program.

I click on the desktop icon 'X Rebirth". Then I do alt-tab and Launch PAV.

I can’t switch the device on the running program. PAV won’t change it. There is no method to change the device within the app.

Need help. Thanks.

My man linux system is back up again. I reinstalled x-rebirth and have the same problem.

For steam??? Guessing it is a missing 32 bit lib

If so be sure you have alsa-plugins-pulse-32bit installed

opensuse 42.3 - kde - 64bit

OPPS, I meant the Linux GOG Version, no DRM.

Tried installing that, no effect.

Try to start the game with:

SDL_AUDIODRIVER=alsa && blablabl-game.sh

I have to add this line also for some games to get the sound work.

That line gives file not found. So, I modified it. I installed XR in normal user mode, not superuser mode. Recommended, someuser said.

The mswin version works. Also, I have the files for making mods.

I’m still unable to the fix problems. Any help? Else, i’m going to email egosoft tech support.
