Wireless networking keeps disconnecting - OpenSuse 13.2

2 days ago my connection to wireless network is disconnecting about every 10 minutes.
To return to work, I need to turn off the network manager and on again.
After 10 minutes, it disconnects again. :frowning:
Follow the log until the moment of unexpected disconnection.

Thanks in advance…

You seem to be using openSUSE in virtualbox. You might want to ask those in openSUSE’s VirtualBox forum.

Nops… I am using the virtualbox in opensuse. The opensuse is my host OS. I think I am in the right forum…

Your lease time seems very short.

2015-06-10T15:28:49.152902-03:00 linux-1c03 dhclient[15645]: bound to 192.168.56.101 -- renewal in 536 seconds

Examination of /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.leases will confirm this. This is normally down to the router, but as you’re using VirtualBox (which I don’t use), I’m wondering if there is a host setting somewhere to control this? It’s your host that is losing the connection, right? Perhaps you could configure it to use static IP addressing instead?

I am having the same problem. I find that my internet will not load a new page or link. I check the network, and see 0 bytes up or down. I must disconnect and then reconnect (sometimes a couple of times) in order to get a page to load. The computer says it is connected, but it just ain’t talkin’ to nobody. I’m very new to opensuse, so please type slowly. How do I fix this? I’m sure it is just a setting I need to tweak somewhere.

Thanks.

According to the above log data,
Your DHCP lease renewal is causing your problems.
Ordinarily, no matter what the renewal value is (It’s always 50% of TTL) if the DHCP scope is large relative to assigned addresses, then addresses are renewed without issue. The most common cause of problems is if there are more clients than are addresses, so addresses are re-assigned to machines and leases of course then may not be renewed and require issuing a new address.

So in general,

  • Inspect issued addresses and consider how many devices connect on your network relative to the DHCP scope, maybe it needs to be expanded or re-defined.
  • If connect using the same devices and rarely have new ā€œguestā€ machines regularly, then you can extend the TTL to a larger number, even several days. Of course, this makes no sense if guest machines need addresses constantly.

For anyone posting a ā€œme, tooā€ in this Thread, unless you analyze your log data similarly there is no way to know if your problem is the same.

Guys…
I tried a lot of things. I even was tried forget this. But is very bad enable and disable network all day.
I catch more informations: (always after this, I need reconnect NetworkManager)

My apologies. I meant the openSuSe Virtualization forum (because you are asking for help concerning a VM problem).

Could this be the problem? Open a terminal window and do:

su -c 'rm /etc/resolv.conf'

then reboot the machine or restart the network service.

Still, you should have a look at the renewal of the ip address, if you have access to the router.

After deleting the resolv.conf and restart the machine the system automatically put this information in the file:

search someaddress.com site
nameserver 192.168.254.3
nameserver 192.168.254.2
nameserver 8.8.8.8

someaddress.com is the address of a company website which I work. The DNS server for this domain is here (company that I work).

About the information on the router, what specifically should I look for?

P.S.: The problem persists.

What I need to paste here? What I need to update? What I need to reinstall?
I’ve done many things and the problem continues. Debian installed a version of the machine only for testing and that version does not have this problem.
I really need to solve this problem because it is very bad off and on the internet at all times.
