Wireless detected but no internet

My wireless is detected, I can scan the network (other also), I can select my network give the passphrase , but I can not connect to internet. While configuring (through ifup) it takes more time during “write firewell setting” and then suddenly the window is vanishing.

Laptop : Sony vaio VGN-FW235J
wireless : Intel Wifi 5100 AGN
OS : Suse 11.1

Please help me.

Have you checked your DNS and Gateway settings in Yast2 > Network Devices > Network Settings ?
