WINE: Starcraft crashes after using UDP multiplayer.

I get error:
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl WS_SIO_UDP_CONNRESET stub
fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl WS_SIO_UDP_CONNRESET stub
err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 2216 bytes in thread 0030 eip 7bc3ef28 esp 03780a88 stack 0x3780000-0x3781000-0x3880000

If I use Battlenet for Multi player, it exits just fine.

I tried 1.1.28, 1.2-RC2 both with same issue.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Thanks.

Hello hpark21,

First of all there’s a lot of information missing.
So could you answer the following questions?
Which version of openSUSE do you have?
Do you use KDE or GNOME?
Which version of the game do you have?

I don’t have this game but the first thing I do when I run a program in wine is looking for the program in wine’s appDB.
Here you can see what others have experienced.
Here’s the page of Starcraft: WineHQ - StarCraft plain StarCraft.
Here’s a quote from the page:

Good luck!

OpenSUSE 11.2
KDE
Starcraft 1.16.1

I had no issues playing UDP multiplayer prior (even on 11.2 I believe) and I re-installed the 11.2, updated all packages, and installed Wine, fired up my trusty copy of starcraft/broodwar and this is what happened. I tried even earlier version of wine as well to no avail. (1.1.28)

Hello hpark21,

Sorry for the late response.

Maybe when you change the Windows Version and reinstall the game it works?
To do this run this command:

winecfg

And click on the tab “Applications”.
At the bottom you’ll see “Windows Version”.

Good luck!
