Windows to Open Suse

Hi,

I am using Windows XP at my home with Microsoft Outlook Express 6 as Email Client. I want to Convert my OS to Open Suse. How can transfer my Email which are there in Outlook Express. I had taken the Backup of .dbx files also.

Please suggest.

Ashish

Install the Thunderbird email client into windows xp then you can use the import feature in Thunderbird to bring them into folders in Thunderbird in windows. Then you can copy those folders directly into the Thunderbird file structure in Linux. Then when you open Thunderbird in Linux you’ll see them all.

Hi Ashish.
You can install on Windows Mozilla Thunderbird and import your mail to
this mail client. Install ImportExportTools extension to Thunderbird -
is make possible export your mail in one of many different formats, they
are may be imported to any e-mail client on openSUSE KMail, Thunderbird
or Evolution.

Another method of mail migration is to upload all mail to an IMAP mail
server, and then download them again in the target client. This should work
with any pair of clients.

Of course, it is faster if the imap server is local.
