I started using openSUSE 12.2 back in January dual booting it with Windows 7. When I upgraded to openSUSE 12.3 using a 4.7 gb upgrade cd Grub 2 is no longer showing my windows installation.
Check out whether the solution put up here works for you https://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/install-boot-login/484740-grub-doesnt-display-win7-boot.html#post2538684
Thanks I just opened YAsT and changed some boot settings. Everything works fine
Cool. When in trouble consult YaST
I have the same problem.
After installing 12.3, I am not able to start Windows.
I had dual boot on this machine with 12.1 and windows, and it worked ok.
Now I have done a fresh install to upgrade to 12.3
How can I tell Yast to add the windows partition (sda1) so that it is available at start up?
I remember doing this with 12.1 but now I do not see this option in Yast.

Thank you,
Thank you for the link!
It worked for me too, but now, at the start menu I have
- Opensuse 12.3
- Windows (sda1)
- Windows (sda2)
Really Windows (sda2) is not a good start option because it is only a recovery image, it is not really intended to start the OS Windows.
Is there a way to delete Windows (sda2) from the start menu?
Thanks,
You are welcome
