WiFi SSID Not Displayed

Very strange but my Network Manager widget does not show the broadcast SSID of my preferred AP. It shows all the others on site but instead of the usual SSID it shows:-

New 802-11-wireless connection.

My other devices show their expected SSID as usual.

I was able to connect to this “New” device using the correct security pass phrase but even then the correct name didn’t show.

Anybody have any explanation for this strange behaviour.

FWIW, I’ve encountered the odd AP that doesn’t broadcast its SSID as frequently, so sometimes missed by NM.

Is it picked up in a scan via the iw command?

iw dev wlan0 scan

Usually after a CLI scan using iw or iwlist the NM AP list will also be ipdated accordingly.
