Why is BorgBackup in Leap 15.6 so old?

Will it be safe to install borg 1.4 from the community repositories?

Can there be any issues when migrating an existing backup from version 1.1.18 to 1.4?

If you trust the home repo. There is no quality assurance or any test from openSUSE for home repos. YOU as user are responsible for any damages when using.

You need to check the upstream release notes.

Looking at the openSUSE :Factory requests, it seems that the latest borgbackup package has been requested for openSUSE Leap 16.0 – <Requests for borgbackup>
