My computer is Thinkpad X260. I tried to install openSUSE Leap 16.0 with Ventoy, but I couldn’t get into the installation program, even if I changed to Rufus, it wouldn’t work. What solutions are there?
Review the following guide
Ventoy does not support Leap 16.0.
any news on the ventoy stuff any leap 16.0 iso boot and install support? i have never looked into these boot stick concepts much or the bios pc and uefi pc boot concept that much but what is it that happened since leap 15.6 iso boot construct that changed so much with leap 16.0 iso boot? or does ventoy detect the isos someway and add mix mess or patch boot stuff? i liked ventoy so far it enabled a lot of types of isos all residing on one single simple usb device and boot them and off you go. thanks.
Ventoy is not recommended. If used only use the dd or equivalent option.
Only a clean unmodified binary copy to the install device (not a partition on the device) will work. Ventoy by defaults makes modifications to the iso
Any reason you are asking here and not on Ventoy forum or whatever support channel they have? Ask them and tell us ![]()
there is a github issue telling about some bootparameter:
[issue]: Ventoy 1.1.07 cannot boot openSUSE 16.0 · Issue #3379 · ventoy/Ventoy · GitHub
Avoid Ventoy.
If using any tool like Ventoy or Rufus, I’d go for balenaEtcher
