when I’m on windows and someone pinged me, the icon in the bottom bar changed to one with red 1, so I knew that someone wanted something from me, but when I’m on openuse and someone writes something implicitly, the icon in the bar doesn’t change, so I can figure it out after a few hours that someone wanted something
Is it possible to make the icon change to 1/2/…/9 when someone pings me?
I downloaded discord using the system application
i haw kde desktop
I don’t use KDE - but as a data point, on GNOME, I do see the indicator with the tray icon.
So it seems that Discord does this, but either (1) the way they do it is incompatible with the way KDE handles it, or (2) the Linux version integrates with each desktop separately, and the integration with the version of KDE Plasma you’re using is broken.
I assume you’re running Discord 0.0.57 (since it won’t start if it’s not the latest version), but worth confirming.
It might also be worth asking the Discord developers if they’re aware of any issues with this in KDE.
yes

Install Discord indirectly using zypper
any idea how to fix it?
The latest version is 0.0.57:
I would probably start with an update - I don’t install from Packman, but rather from Discord directly.
If Packman is building from source (which is possible), then it may well be something in the codebase that they’re building - I would try the official build at the very least to see if the problem persists, and if it does, then I would ask the Discord folks about it, otherwise, I’d ask Packman about it.
