What to use for remote access?

I’ve been using RealVNC to remote control both my parents Windows machines and my own OpenSUSE Leap machine.

Im running MacOS X on my administration machine so I want to be able to use this OS as a client-machine!

Now I’m wondering if there are any alternatives that I can use? A solution that’s free of charge. What are you guys using, any suggestions?

Which desktop environment are you using on the openSUSE machine? Wayland or X11 session?
