What is the default tty font, and how can I get it in Konsole?

Hi.

I am currently running openSUSE 12.3 RC1, but the question should be fairly generic for any recent openSUSE release.

I really like the default tty font (i.e., the one on the ctrl+alt+f1 f2 and so on consoles), and I can’t seem to find one that looks quite the same in Konsole (using edit current profile -> appearance -> select font). Perhaps I am just blind (or there is a combination of bold / not bold I haven’t tried), but none of the Konsole fonts look as nice as the tty font.

So does anyone know how to get the same font in Konsole?

I’m not sure whether that even uses a font. Or, to put it differently, the font used might come from your display device and not from your installed software.

I’m using “Monospace” on Konsole, and it looks okay for me. However, on my machine at work, Konsole looks horrible (graphic resolution does not match display).

I don’t think you can use the same exact font, they are defined
differently AFAIK. You have to try several monospaced fonts to find
which is more similar.

Ah so it’s probably not available :-(. But I suppose Monospace bold is close enough that I shall survive, thanks
