Mandriva has a “Powerpack” that is for more “Easy” users.
But i think price $120.00 for 1 year SUSE Standard Subscription is bad.
Its is better to buy microsoft OEM license with that price.
Why can not be sell Suse that is more better than Opensuse (More easy to set up). And higher internet speed (up to 100/1000 mbit) download speed?
Hi
The price you quoted is for full support of SLED, you can get basic
which is updates and forum support for less than that for three
years…but I digress.
What you need to do is use http://susestudio.com to create your own
CD/DVD with all of the listed repositories added and customize to your
requirements.
If you buy the boxed openSUSE you get I think 60 days of installation
support, else use the forum for free…
Basicaly the enterprise products have longer support (up to 7 years), longer release cycles, they have HW and SW certifications, you can buy additional support, etc…
I like opensuse, but i want to pay opensuse next time.
The core of “10.4” is great.
Goto Yast -> Software Repositories -> Add -> Community Repositories. Yast will download a list of suggested repositories, just select the repositories which you want. The list contains also Packman, ATI + nVidia drivers and many more.

I hope to made Opensuse Ultimate (Like windows 7 ultimate).
That support all of (Features of Opensuse) KDE 4.6.1, Gnome, Xfce
And i need only to make one images?
So it can upgrade packages automacally? E.g if make susestudio with firefox 4.0 RC so when i wait to download it (about 1 month) get i firefox 4 stabile?
Hi
You can install as many applications as you can, the issue will be installing (unless it’s a VM) so best to stick with the 4.3GB limit of a single sided DVD or if you can run DL DVD but I’ve never used it on SuSE Studio.
Yes, just one image customized to your liking is all you need…
Which ever repositories you have enabled on the SuSE Studio image will be reflected onto the installed system, so you would have the update repository added, hence when there is an update you will have it available to install. You could probably automate to install updates as well, I always use the manual method…
If you buy it at a retail store, you will probably get whatever is in stock, which might be an old version.
If you buy it online via the opensuse site, you should be able to get the current version. I did that for 11.0 and 11.3. However, I downloaded 11.4, because I didn’t want to wait the extra days that it takes with buying it.
