Some suggestions?

Hi
Check the BIOS, is it enabled? If so, maybe it’s faulty since it should show up in lsusb output…

Hi
Hmmm, from the specs the webcam is optional, sure there is one present?
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c02852988

Its really strange, because the camera is present on top of the screen.

But I cant find its entry in BIOS…

Well, leet me play devil’s advocate.

Actually, this only proves that there is a little “hole” in the case at the
top of the screen which a camera could use if it is present.

If I were a vendor I would not produce two different cases even if my customer
chooses not to buy the webcam.

Also that makes things easier if some customer wants to get a camera later,
nobody would like to drill a hole into his laptop.

> But I cant find its entry in BIOS…

No device in BIOS and no sign of a camera in lsusb-output sounds like there is
no camera.

Seems logical.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Hi
The only way to really confirm is to remove the front bezel from the
screen… It could be there, cable may be damaged (in the hinge area).
