libwacom-tools change log says: Intuos Pro is supported since October 10, 2013

sudo /sbin/modprobe -r wacom

here I am a bit lost.
it looks like device triggers needed actions, but when it comes to the Wacom drivers - the device is not recognized.
can you help?

Andrey

My Wacom Intuos CTH-480 works really well on openSUSE 13.1 - the key is to either use your own custom kernel or create the kernel modules required and activate them. I found that with the standard kernel from the 13.1 distro the modules are not there. The most recent kernel 3.17 is very good with the tablet, recognizes it nicely with no complaint.

Hi colbec,
thanks for the reply.
It looks like Wacom is rather rare topic here in the forum. do you know by the chance whether it is going to be supported by 13.2?
Then I could wait few days and get into the “standard” release.
Andrey

I think the details of what will be included in 13.2 are published elsewhere, not for me to say.

You might check with the wacom-linux project to see if this device is
currently supported by the drivers.

There’s a mailing list that I occasionally monitor, but I don’t recall
there being any discussion about this device being supported yet (but I
don’t watch it every day).

http://linuxwacom.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page is where the
project is hosted, and the mailing list is there as well. There may be
some tips for your device in the wiki as well.

While not an official Wacom project, the drivers are written and
maintained by someone who works there, as I recall.

Hi Jim,
I have followed mentioned by you community.
Indeed it has been in the development and slowly progressing.
From couple of conversations there I have understood mentioned by me device should be already supported.
Going through the described steps I tried to bring the drivers into the system with no result.
In the meantime from some of these conversations I’ve understood the need for new kernel.
This is where I stopped due to no desire to get out of the maintained by SUSE system structure.
Andrey

colbec,
thanks for the info.
It looks like move to vanilla 13.2 is not going to make it as based on the release description it goes for 3.16
