plz help…

Try renaming the hidden .azureus folder in your /home/
to
.azureus_old

This will start Vuze as if for the First time (All your files and settings are in the _old file)

See if this works first and let us know.

no… it did’nt work …

Is this Vuze the one from Packman?

yes…its name in yast contains pm

You could try this. Download this: SourceForge.net: Azureus: Downloading …

Then as su go to:
/usr/share/java/Azureus

rename the the Azureus4.jar to Azureus4_old.jar

and paste in the new Azureus4.jar

okay… I will try this… whatz the difference between default kernel and pae? I logged in pae kernel and vuze is working fine.

PAE
Physical Address Extension - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It addresses 4GB+ RAM in 32 bit systems

Strange that vuze works differently with PAE.

no…it’s not working that way… now it’s not working in PAE also… I ahev 3 GB of RAM… so there is no use in working in pae. rite?

It does not matter really if you use PAE or default.

Do this in a terminal

rpm -qi Vuze

Try Yast Software Management - Filter by repo
Go to Packman and see if Vuze has an update
If it shows Blue, click the check box and run the update, if not just re-install it anyway.

If it still does not work report the terminal startup output errors to packman.

To do that visit the Packman site
PackMan :: Informationen zum Paket Azureus
Click on the Packagers name and it should star an email to the Packager and Packman

I’ve had this error as well. Easiest way to fix this is to NOT install mozilla-xulrunner181, which Vuze depends on. Mark the package as Taboo in Yast, and ignore the dependency error. Vuze will automatically use the xulrunner associated with Firefox 3. You should not get the libxul error anymore.

Regardless, it’s still a good idea to tell Packman to use the newer xulrunner. No one uses the old xulrunner anymore, since almost everyone is using Firefox 3.

It worked… I removed mozilla xulrunner 1.81… its working now…

I am getting a Cyclic Redundancy Error while trying to DL a file. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program and everytime i try to run the program it freezes saying that it did not shutdown Tidly. I believe the problem is the file I am trying DL. I can’t seem to remove the file which seems to be the primary cause of the freezing, It freezes everytime I try to load the program. Everytime I reinstall the program the file I am trying to stop from DL’ing is still there even after being uninstalled and reinstalled. Please help as this is one of my computer entertainment factors.>:(

Are you prepared to remove the hidden folder .azureus

It will start you over from a blank slate

may not apply to this thread, but the most recent version of Vuze from packman is 4.2.0.8 and when i updated from 4.2.0.3 it crashed on start up about the time it was fully loaded and searching for updates. i perused the log files looking for a reason and found nothing.

pressed for time i reverted to the previous 4.2.0.3 since i had that rpm available, and hadn’t thought about it again until i saw this thread.
