Anyone can tell where i can find that package?

i have installed python-devel but occurs the same error, need the rpm package pytz

hmm, couldn’t find an rpm, but i quickly looked & found this Python Package Index : pytz 2008b see if that helps

i try install pytz-2008b with the command python setup.py install and find that errors:

/usr/lib/python2.5/distutils/dist.py:263: UserWarning: Unknown distribution option: ‘zip_safe’
warnings.warn(msg)
running install
error: invalid Python installation: unable to open /usr/lib/python2.5/config/Makefile (No such file or directory)

to compile, the basics you need installed are

1 ) kernel sources
2 ) gcc/gcc++
3 ) make

check you have them & install if you don’t, then try again

Hi,

Just check this out …

Huawei 220 3G modem. - openSUSE Forums

Maybe it can help … I do not know what is your specific “connect card” … but it should help.

Regards,
Pedro

I install the package but the error is the same :frowning:

Hi,

Relax … if you read the link notice there is no need to to install the package on Opensuse 10.3, the kernel version supports the model Huawei 220 and the module Huawei 260 (many others are also supported but you still did not mention your modem) … just follow the steps to configure wvdial and kppp and the commands to activate the connection.

Regards,
Pedro

Hello,

I use the gnome edition of opensuse. For KDE exist kppp software, what is the similar program for the gnome?

thanks

Hello!
I experience the same problem.

  • none of the drivers for linux is working. I use opensuse 11.0 on inspiron 1520
  • python package installed
  • pytz does not match the existing version

Hi there
I am running OpenSUSE 11.0 and trying to connect via Huawei 220 3G modem through Vodafone, it is/was recognised through Knetwork-manager and can only get it to work every so often which can be a pain.

I go through the configuration screens for the Knetwork-Manager, using the following (and leaving the rest of the settings to default):

The number it dials (which I got from the settings in windows) 96**16#
Connection Name (at the end of the wizard): Vodafone
Autoconnection: checking this

Then clicking ‘Connect & Save’

When i do get it work (which can be a miracle) it fine, but it doesn’t, I can end up scratching my and then switch back to w1nd0ws just to go on the internet.

Many thanks for any help.
