VMWare Installation

I would like to install openSuse Education using VMWare Workstation. Are there any instructions for doing this that are suitable for a novice; I have tried to install it but the iso installation crashes into a mass of errors.

There is a specific virtualization forum you can use.

I’m not familiar with the education iso, but we can’t try anything without
knowing what those errors are.

Interesting.

I just downloaded and installed the latest version (v7.15-491717.i386) of VMware Workstation to a 32-bit openSUSE 12.1 a couple weeks ago, and in preparation read up on a ton of posts in these forums beforehand.

But, the install went smoothly without incident, nary an issue.

Recommend you provide some details about what VMware version is installed and your system, whether you read the README that came with the install and the first few errors you saw.

Posting in the correct (sub)forum helps in getting the people who know best about the subject. Why didn’t you post in the Virtualisation forum?

We do not know yet if it is an issue with the host, the virtualization, or
the guest. My wild guess is for the openSUSE education guest, a bad iso. We
really need those error messages.
