I might be missing the obvious but is there a package available for the extension pack in Tumbleweed?
You’ll need to download the Extension Pack from Oracle.
But, that shouldn’t be difficult, IIRC adding the Extension Pack may connect automatically, or you can simply download from the Oracle Virtualbox Download page

I managed to get this installed but just in case anyone else stumbles on this thread. I had to go to the older builds section to get the version that matched the version of virtualbox I am running. Download_Old_Builds_5_1 – Oracle VM VirtualBox
The command line used after downloading was “sudo VBoxManage extpack install Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-5.1.24-117012.vbox-extpack”.

I guess the openSUSE VBox build must be momentarily a tad behind, maybe due to all the work being done related to the 42.3 launch.
Ordinarily, it’s also possible to install the Extension pack by
- Download and note location on your file system
- Open your VBox Manager
File > Preferences > Extensions > Click on the button with the “+” and browse to the downloaded file.
