Virtual Box install doesn't recognize 64-bit machine

Dear All -

I’m trying to install OpenSUSE 12.3 on a 64-bit Mac running VirtualBox 4.2.10. When I begin, I get a reboot prompt that tells me “Nice software - but, you cannot install a 64-bit OS on a 32-bit machine”…or something like this.

What’s going on? I’ve installed Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit on the same platform with no troubles.

Thanks in advance!!

Chances are that you need to go into your BIOS and find a setting that
talks about Virtualization. It’s usually disabled by default and you need
to urn it on. This has to do specifically with virtualizing 64-bit stuff,
which is not as easy without a BIOS-level setting as virtualizing 32-bit
on 64-bit or 32-bit on 32-bit.

For more information, Google for AMD-V or Intel-VT technologies.

Good luck.
