Very stupid question

Sometimes in the topic it is said that the program works as a flatpak version. What is this flatpak? Can it be downloaded from Decovers. I don’t understand this, sorry.

For exsample:

Chromium won’t play youtube videos

Exact same issue happened to me with with the latest Chromium on TW: 133.0.6943.98 (openSUSE Build), stable (64 bit). Flatpak version works just fine.

https://en.opensuse.org/Flatpak

flatpak are basically a way to distribute software in linux, They differ from the native packages as they are sandboxed.
yes you can download flatpaks from discover

there is a indicator above the download button when you search for apps in discover
you can also download flatpaks from flathub
Flathub, a repository (or remote source in the Flatpak terminology) located at flathub.org, is the de facto standard for getting applications packaged with Flatpak

Thanks a lot for the information!

A question, when I install programs with the zypper command and sometimes with the flatpak command, does the software get corrupted?

No, if you download the same program using both the commands you will just have two versions of the same program.

I’m about to cry while installing GIMP. :pensive:

How do I install the latest GIMP 2 branch on Tumbleweed?
I’m told it can be done via Flatpak, but I don’t know how to do it.
Could someone please give me all the commands in the exact correct format. So that it works all at once.

To download gimp flatpak using the terminal, use the following command

flatpak install flathub org.gimp.GIMP

You can also use discover

Sorry, I posted in the wrong thread.
