/var/log/messages: kernel:sr 5:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device

dear all,
I find the following line in my /var/log/messages every two seconds:

kernel: sr 5:0:0:0: rejecting I/O to offline device

What does this mean? what offlline device? I didn’t make any changes lately on this machine. How can I found out more where the problem is? any help/suggestions/hints appreciated…

Any chance you start your thread with telling us which version of openSUSE you use?

I have opensuse 12.3

BTW, sr often refers to CD/DVD devices.
