I tried both the command line using the instructions in the sticky https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/410319-Getting-Your-Wireless-to-Work & the connection editor gui.
When I try to configure my wireless connection using the connection editor, it tells me I am missing a plugin.
When I upgraded opensue,I left my usb wireless adapter plugged in & the current driver was automatically installed.
Is this the correect driver or do I have to install the driver the the D-link website?
http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/support/product/dwa-131-wireless-n-nano-usb-adapter?revision=deu_revb
How do I workout which plugin is missing?

Are you using Network Manager to configure and control your network connectivity? Assuming you are trying to connect via NM, you might want to look at the system journal for problems when trying to connect. Open a terminal and execute
sudo journalctl -f|grep NetworkManager
Then try connecting. Observe the journalctl output. CTRL-C to terminate. If you don’t have internet connectivity on this machine, copy/paste the output a text file and transfer via memory stick to a machine that does to share that output here.
I note that the rtl8192cu driver requires firmware
# modinfo rtl8192cu
filename: /lib/modules/4.1.15-8-default/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/rtlwifi/rtl8192cu/rtl8192cu.ko
firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw_TMSC.bin
firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw_B.bin
firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw_A.bin
firmware: rtlwifi/rtl8192cufw.bin
This is generally provided by the ‘kernel-firmware’ package, so make sure that you have that installed first.
# rpm -ql kernel-firmware|grep rtl8192
/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8192ee_fw.bin
/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8192eu_fw.bin

Do you have access to a wired internet connection?
When I first posted I was connected via an ethernet cable.
Currently I am on the D-link wireless.
As long as I don’t use any encryption, my connection is fine.
As soon as I try to encrypt my connection WPA & WPA2 I loose my connection.
I also see there is a Realtek USB wireless package.
When I first started looking to a wireless adapter I bought a Realtek but when I got home & started researching it, I found that Realtek didn’t offer any linux support for their product so I took it back.
Is this just the licence I see or is the software stilled installed on pc?

I cut out a lot of alais usb packages which I thought were irrelevant to reduce space.
