This question concerns application updates other than “security” updates.
I have Suse 11.1 and it works very well and satisfies my needs in a computer. Is there ANY reason to update applications, in this case, when they all works fine for me. Thanks for your time and trouble.
Generally speaking it is better to update. But there are some you might want to keep as is. Mostly I update everything.
Rule number One: Backup BEFORE you need to.
Rule number Two: Do NOT fix it if it ain’t broke. (which means, if you
like what you got, then WHY ‘update’ it???
anyway, ‘updates’ around here are as likely to BREAK something as fix
anything!!
